I am a Professional Child Care Provider, my goal is to provide your child with a clean, comfortable environment where they can play and learn with guidance loving care while you are at work or attending school. In order to make our relationship as enjoyable as possible the following are some mutual beneficial requirements that are necessary to assure that there are no misunderstanding between either parties, that each party is aware of the requirements, and that these requirements are carried out in a businesslike manner. There is a lot of information here. Please read all of it. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me.
At Frankie’s Friends D.C. you are paying for a specific slot, not per hour. These policies and accompanying contracts become effective upon enrollment.
Business Hours/Overtime
I provide childcare from Monday to Friday during your contracted hours. Any changes to your schedule have to be discussed and re-scheduled in order to meet your needs.
There is an extra fee of $15.00 per child for every fifteen minutes for children not picked up by 6:30 p.m.
To ensure the safety of your child, only you or your designate(s) may pick up your child. Phoning me to let me know someone other than you will be picking up your child is fine. I will ask for Drivers License and a copy will be made to put in folder. All designated pick ups are to fill out forms and added to emergency pick up list.
Verification of legal Custody: I must have a copy of the court order recognizing that the parent who has custody of the child, as well as visitation schedules. Otherwise I have no choice except to release the child to his/her parent.
Weather
If we are under severe or threatening weather conditions we are closed. Typically if the schools are closed we are closed. Please call me directly for this info.
Admission Paperwork
Before I will assume responsibility of caring for your child I must have the following:
Signed Policy handbook Contract
Signed Financial Agreement
Paper work as required by licensing regulations
Client & General information forms
Transportation, Photo and activity release forms
Please Note: All forms must be up dated yearly.
Payment and Late Fees
All payments must be received on the scheduled day, unless other arrangements are made. Full fees are required regardless of whether or not your child attends.
Checks: There will be a $30.00 charge for all checks returned N.S.F plus any additional charges inquired to myself and /or by the bank. Parents who have two or more N.S.F checks will be required to pay by cash or money order.
Provider Holidays
We are closed all Saturdays and Sundays
Parent Vacations
Please notify me at least two weeks in advance when you plan to take vacations. You can take 1 week per year without payment. All other weeks require ½ of weekly amount to keep your child’s spot available.
Termination
The first two weeks of childcare are to be an adjustment period. It is my responsibility to let the parent know if the child seems unhappy or the arrangement is unsatisfactory for any other reason. It is the parent’s responsibility to let me know the same. The parent or Director can terminate the contract anytime during the adjustment period in writing on or before the 14th day after care starts.
I will terminate our child care arrangements immediately for any reasons (but not solely limited to).
* Failure to comply with the policies set forth in this book.
* Failure to comply with contract.
* Destructive or hurtful behavior of child that persists even with parent cooperation in stopping.
* Non-Payment of childcare fees or late and recurring late payment of fees.
* Failure to complete required forms.
* Inability to meet the child’s needs without additional staff.
* Blatant disrespect towards provider and staff.
Child Abuse/Neglect
It is law and also my responsibility as a childcare provider to report any and all abuse or neglect performed on a child. I cannot and will not turn my head on a child that has been abused or neglected. Therefore, I will notify Children’s Protective Services and the Police Department when it appears that a child in my care is being physically, sexually, or emotionally abused, neglected, or exploited.
Supplies
Parents are responsible for supplying:
Diapers and Wipes
A full change of clothing
Bedding- favorite blanket and pillow
Any other supplies your child may need
All personal belongings should be marked with child’s name.
Meals and Snacks
The Center will provide healthy snacks as well as milk and juice
If your child requires a special diet due to allergies, medications age and/ or cultural or religious beliefs, it will be the responsibility of the parent to provide lunch and snacks for their child.
Medication
If your child is on antibiotics he/she continues to be contagious for 24 hours after the first dose of medication and can not return to childcare until this time period has passed.
Child care regulations prohibit me from giving your child medication of any kind unless you have filled out and signed permission to Administer Form. All medication must be in original, labeled container. Blank permission to administer medication forms are kept in your family connection folder.
Medical Emergencies
Minor bumps and scrapes are inevitable, but the teachers will make every effort to keep your children safe through supervision and child proofing. Minor injuries will receive appropriate first aid, and if an emergency injury or illness occurs, you will be contacted immediately. If teachers or Director is unable to contact either parent, the Center will call the emergency contact numbers supplied to Center to make the medical decisions for the child. If necessary your child will be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital.
Policy Revisions
Revisions to policies and procedures, contracts and forms I make may be done within a minimum of two weeks notice unless it is a new regulation – these changes will take place immediately. Policies, contracts and forms will be reviewed periodically and updated, if necessary (usually every January). I will notify parents in writing of any changes. All previous forms will become obsolete.
Communication
Communication is very important to me. I like to be sure that we can share openly any concerns or questions that may arise. I feel that we are a team raising your child. If we can work together then your child can feel secure in knowing they have two families who love them very much.
I welcome questions, feedback, or discussions of any kind that affect a positive outcome for the child. Sensitive issues will be discussed outside of regular hours either by letter, phone or a scheduled conference.
Daily Repot Forms
Teachers will keep daily records concerning your child’s activities and behaviors during the day. Special needs will also be noted on the forms. We ask you to share information concerning any event or happening that may affect your child’s behavior during the day. Ex: Were they up late? Is a parent ill or at home?
Confidentiality
The only information teachers should share with parents, is information concerning his or her child. Conversations about other children, other parents, co-workers, and supervisors are unprofessional and in some instances illegal.
